Im looking for a high output alternator to power my car electronics.
I've got a high demand audio system and my lights are dimming even with a capacitor supplying my audio system.
I did a test on the battery and current alternator.
My battery was bad, so I bought a new duralast gold 925 cranking amps battery.
My Alternator wasn't bad, but it was just barely considered working withen reason I was told, I think the alt I got right now dilvers 90 amps.
I've been told you can buy a aftermarket alternator to supply more power to your cars electrical system. If I do this any wireing upgrades required?
And I've also been told that buying a OPTiMA Yellow Top battery will fix it.
Anyone got some recomendations?
Its a 99 Honda Passport Ex 3.2L
Thanks.

Well, I run 4 sets of fog lights, cb radio, air compressor, sometimes the cell phone, camera, and extra running lights on the Rodeo with great results connected to an Interstate battery (highest CCA they have available 950 or something like that) and just your basic Bosch alternator that comes for the '97 model year.
Haven't had any issues in almost 4yrs, and that's with having auxillaries on quite a bit without the truck running.
I don't have an all fancy stereo system though; simply a good head unit mated to the typical 4 speaker set-up.
