I have a 96 taurus gl with a 120,000 miles and my engine went bad and im thinking about replacing it. I think ill need it to last for about 2 years and ill put about 24000 more miles on it. Is it worth it?

If you know how to rebuild,do it,or pay someone to.Otherwise try and find a wrecked one with a good engine and swap.OR find a beater car for $1000 and drive it for 24,000K.Whatever works for ya.

what do you mean your engine went bad? head gasket blew? spun a bearing?
spark plug came out with no electrode?

I think the mechanics I took it to said that the head gaskets blew and it would be 1200 to fix it but I could get a engine from a junkyard and have someone put it in for less. I just want to make sure the car is going to last atleast a year in a half.

If you have the 3.0 vulcan, you should be able to find a lot of them at junkyards and probably with less miles.
