What do you think about these cars in general ? What does mean the sigle on the plates (under the number : mpl) ?

Peugeot doesn't sale any more in the USA since they left in 1991 (with the 405 and 505). They could turn back, but nothing is official.
>Straight : I would say that Peugeot doesn't exist only in North America (except Mexico). They sell about 70% of their production in Europe (on 29 countries, there is a market share of about 10% for PSA) and the 30% left in South America, Asia, Africa, and Oceania.

I think Peugeot could do well if they ever decided to bring it back to the States. The consumer taste has been turning farther to those little European city car types and they'd have that "exotic" appeal.

would be interesting to see some peugeots and also Citroen cars back to the United States, i have a Peugeot 307 break of the year 2006 and is a great car very dynamic for do manouvers of overtaking and with an excellent roadhandling, the one that have , comes with Tiptronic transmission with two modes Sports and Snow mode and in highway the behavior is outstanding as well as the fuel consumption for be a engine 1.6 24 valves the average milleage is 28MPG in city and 35 in Highway those values with the AC on in my last vacations we filled the tank with gas with 30 litres (8 gallons) of gasoline 95 octanes and well from Santiago Chile to Valparaiso via the 68 Highway we arrived to Valparaiso with the gas gauge meter without any variation still stucked in full tank, and just we in our stay in the region that we visited just filled again just one time with 25 litres (7 gallons) our tank again for keep it full and even could we go back to Santiago and the gas gauge was in half tank even using the AC and well keeping windows closed and the tires properly inflated, also something interesting is that the car do not had any issue or wind resistance in highway we never heard any noise of turbulence or any weird noise or vibration and the next car a Ford KA we seen many vibrations in highway, funny no?
before i had a Citroen ZX of 1996 also station wagon and was a good car, just i had to sell it because i do not had room for two stations wagons in our patio. but both cars were very reliable.
of anyway that is my car

Peugeot's and Citroen's have always been interesting and stylish cars to me and if reintroduced here I might have to purchase one. I always have had different tastes in automobiles the norm.
