ok, so my master cylinder on my clutch, is leaking, which as caused the booster to fail... so, really all my question is... is the clutch MC for the VR-4 the same as the one for the base, because i found one really cheap, but it just says its for 3000gt... Thanx, Ryan

Nope, they're different. Go to your local autoparts store and buy a rebuild kit for $20. The gaskets in the MC are worn most likely and it is really uncommon for the actual cylinder to be bad. Worked great for me, and was much cheaper than buying a new one for $150.

well, its all good, a vr-4 for 3000 bux is a steal just for the motor, turbos and body to be good...

there aren't any gaskets in the clutch master cylinder. its a piston ring (a rubber ring) and a rubber boot that are the sources of leaks.

In my opinion if your going to be tearing it apart then theres no sense in not just spending the money to buy new. Its a reassurance that you dont put something together wrong in the MC itself anf failure its going to cause another huge headache.

well gaskets... rings.... i just used a wrong terminology i guess. But they're rubber rings and/or gaskets that hold the fluid inside the cylinder. When I took mine apart I got it all back together in 5 minutes. It's really, really hard to screw up the order in which the parts go.

its so simple, you cannot rebuild it incorrectly. i rebuilt mine b/c 1) it was cheaper, and 2) i could get the rebuild kit at a local auto parts store, rather than having to drive 20 mins to a dealership.
