just a quickie, for some reason, my ps2 has stopped reading my GT4 disk.
everything else works fine.

the disk isn't scratched and a different scratched disk still plays properly.

anyone had this problem?
is it time to buy a new one?

Is it able to be read by another PS2 system? What type of error do you get when you try to play it or what happens?

i haven't tried it on a different PS2 but will do so.
at the moment, it either doesn't go beyond the swirly balls page or in browser, it says disc read error.

also, can anyone in the US possibly help me with a little Amazon/PS3 buying/shipping?
PM if you really can.

I would have to say that if that is the only disc that won't play, there has to be something wrong with just that disc and your PS2 should be fine.

There is a possibilty that your lens is dirty or there is dust in the lens unit. My GT4 disk took a little longer to read until I cleand my really good.

Remove the screws along the bottom of the ps2. pull it apart carfully. Then there are 4 or 6 tiny screws holding the cd tray cover on. Take that off and use a q-tip with pure alchohol to gently clean the lens off.
