A week ago I started it up and the theft light stayed on. After about two minutes it would flash on and off 6 times, stay off for 3 seconds, flash 1 time, off for 3 and start that cycle over again for about 5 minutes. Then it was normal till I got close to work about 45 minutes later. Then it would rev to 3 grand, drop to 1 grand and at that point all the dash lights that come on like when you first turn your key on would do, then back to 3 grand, down to 1, cycling like that for the next few minutes with the dash lights flash at each bottoming of 1 grand, till I got to work. On the way home, no problems. Had it checked with an OBD-II scanner with no codes showing up. Since my wife only drives a mile to work, and I go 65 miles one way, we swapped cars for awhile. Last night it happened to her coming home. I can't get it to happen today. Any ideas? We both seriously believe in signaling for everything, so maybe the multi-function switch? I had high/low beam problems with it before and have heard of stranges things happening when they go bad. Or could it possibly be the ignition switch? Or it could be something totally unrelated to that. I was wondering if that theft light flash pattern was trying to signal what the cause was. Any help is always appreciated.

To read the Body (B) and Communications (U) codes, you'll need a high-end scan tool such as what the dealership or a professional will have. I know the OTC Genisys will read these codes with the correct software as will the Ford dealer's tool, but not sure what others will as well.
