How difficult for shade tree mechanic like me?
Done them on other cars, but I haven't checked to see if these are pressed into the spindle hub.
Thanks

I'm not sure exactly the arrangement of the front wheel bearings in the LHS, but I do know that it is front wheel drive, like my 1998 T&C van.
Now I recently replaced the front wheel bearings on the T&C. In this application, the hub and bearing is a one-piece assembly that is bolted to the steering knuckle. The bearing is sealed and not serviceable or repackable. You simply replace the old assembly with a new one. A new hub/bearing assembly cost me $140 each at my autoparts store.
To replace, I removed the axle hub nut, the wheel, the caliper and the brake disc. I then unbolted the old hub/bearing assembly and bolt the new one on. I then reassembled everything else in reverse order.
The service manual for my Shadow shows a front wheel bearing assembly that is separate from the hub and mounted in the steering knuckle. Removal and inspection of this style bearing requires the same level of disassembly as the T&C. My manual claims that these style are repackable, but no detailed procedure was provided.
I suggest you get a manual and see just how your car is put together. Go down to the autoparts store and have them show you what the new bearings look like to understand what you're up against. It can be done at home if you have the right tools. Just research this a little first to determine your own limitations before you begin.
