2000 GV SE. Speedometer/milleage not showing

Hi, I'm new at this site.

Well, I have a Plymouth 2000 Grand Voyager SE. The problem I have now is that the Spedometer and Milleage are not showing up. No mechanic has got to what is happening so far.

I replaced myself the Speed Sensor close to the Transmission but yet the same, it is not showing the speed at all, and I think that as a consequence the Cruise Control is not working as well, maybe because cannot get the speed information (is just my thought). You turn on the Cruise Control and the lamp shows at the panel that is on, but it does not work as well.

The check engine light it is on permanently but I took it to a mechanic and no codes came up because of that. It showed as evrything is fine, but the light remains on.

Need help before it gets me crazy!!!. All the rest of the lamos are working. I checked the fuses they are fine.

Try an instrument calibration. Press and hold the trip and reset buttons on the cluster until the instruments come alive. Only takes a few seconds to cycle through. If the speedo and tach move, it's a good bet the cluster is good. Drive it, see what you get. Not sure if this works on a digital dash if thats what you have.

For your Service Engine Light (SEL) try the key cycle method to check codes. The scanner used may have had a problem. Your SEL is powered by the Powertrain Control Module or PCM. It's the engine's computer. You could try resetting it by disconnecting the battery for 2/3 minutes.

I've read when the speed sensor goes you usually see shifting problems along with an erratic or dead speedo. Was that the case? The cruise could be the brake light switch, clockspring (earlier models had a recall on them), servo controller, or relay. Check the vacuum line for security and cracks.

Thanks for your quick response. First I did not understand as I was changing the belt tensioner which was starting giving me a bad noise.

Well I did what you said and all the instruments moved, including the Spedometer; but I drived around the neighborhood and nothing changed, the speed is not showing up. I will appreciate if somebody knows something else. While I was calibrating the instruments 3 checks went through and a code 999 appeared in between as well.

About the Engine Light I already removed the battery cables for more than 2 minutes but it is still permanently showing up. I even recently changed myself the sparks, cables, muffler, resonator, fuel filter, PCV valve, and something else, but nothing has changed.

About the Cruise I thought it has to do with the spedometer that is not working, then it has no way to read the speed information, but I'm not sure.
The Mileage is digital, and is not working as well, I know the speed I'm going by calculating with the RPM while driving. Thanks. Hope to here from you again to see if I finally can fix this problem.

Where are exactly this three located: "the brake light switch, clockspring, servo controller, or relay" ??

Did you replace both speed sensors on the transmission ? there is a input and a output speed sensor.

The Chrysler receipt for the sale says "Sensor 9D" part number 004800879; like yellow colored. Pretty much big.

The one I replaced was "Sensor 9D" part number 004800879; like yellow colored. Pretty much big.. I have to check if the other sensor close to Transmission has to do with the speed as well. Do you know?

I had a mechanical speedo in my 90 Caravan, and it didn't work because somebody had replaced the speed sensor, and didn't seat the speedo cable back in correctly.
