i have a friend who has a 99 cougar. It looks as if his engine mounts are shot?? his engine looks like it is going to fall out, which prevents him from driving it.. Any idea of what this could be, if you do please respond. thanks for the help.

Are we talking about engine mounts or roll resistors? The front and back are roll resistors. On the passenger side is the motor mount. Drivers side is the trans mount.

im pretty shure its the roll resistors, but whatever the engine sits on thats what it is

Okay, the rubber center have probably just broken. Just buy a new mount and replace it. He can upgrade to the SVT ones if he wants. The front is probably a 10 min fix. The rear is probably a 5 min fix. Both are cake.

its an automatic

I suggest calling the dealer then. Just to give an idea of cost, BAT carries the svt front roll resistor for about $60 and the rear is about $100.

And no...you dont have to pull the engine. Notice I said its a 5-10 MINUTE job.
