My friend and I installed a dohc zc in his 89 sedan. I have a 94 accord lx coupe I/H/E.So anyway we got into a grudge match on our way to the mall and he put a hurting on my car not to mention he's running an exedy II clutch . Who ever said that the dohc zc isn't worth it is sadly mistaken. i got the jdm f22b dohc si (jspec h23)motor that I'm putting in ,about a week, Maybe I'll get a little revenge.
We had no probs on the install, wiring was easy also. We had to soak three of the injectors overnight but after that she fired up. I like the 4g's keep up the good work guys and gals. To any maryland /VA peeps we got our engines from noyanusa.com in mannassas VA. Excelent customer service and fast shipping. I 'm stationed in Ga but I'll be home in Md around xmas with my motor swap complete.
Peace
:D

I'm getting one within the month. Maybe I'll order from here.

The ZC is only rated at 130 hp by the way.;)

I thought it was rated at between 138 to 140.

Consensus is that it is rated at 130 hp. Most people that have dynoed stock ZCs can verfiy that this is true by converting their whp on the dyno back to a crank rated hp. However, it still is a quick motor once put inside a 4g civic or 2g crx.

I suppose the ZC is fast compared to a stock D series...not to flame the ZC but ever driven a car w/ a B series engine?

I think my DX is decently fast so don't ruin it for me by saying better engines are slow! :D

I went to albany georgia on sunday and watched my boy go against a viper on the 1/8 mile track. The viper ran 8.24 and my boy ran 8.28 driving a 99civic si,no interior, a/c , powersteering, on slicks with a jackson racing supercharger. The guy was basically talking smack in front of his girl and got to witness the kinda power an import can put out.
He normally runs 13's in the 1/4. There was a group from tallahasee florida that ran 6.93 in the 1/8 running a b18. So yes I have dealt with b-series. I just think that the dohc zc is a pretty good bang for the buck.
I have'nt been up north in awhile how is the import scene up there?:D

Yeah they're a decent bang for the buck but you can grab a B18a for the same price. To me B-series are where the power/torque is.

sorry this is a late reply to the quote " Have you ever driven a B series motor. Yes, I drove my friends CRX with a B-16 and I'm sorry to say but I'm happy as hell I didn't do the B-16 plus we raced and we were almost dead even from a roll and stop light and I've beaten my friends 90' integra with a B-16 twice. I'm happy I took the ZC if I did the B-16 I would be pissed if I went threw all that modifications to make it work( i.e.-motor mounts shift link, axles v-tec wiring ) just to be even with a ZC. Now don't get me wrong I like B-16's and there great motors and I have been beaten before by B-16's but is wasn't by much or enough to damn I should have done a B-16. Anyway if I was going to do a B series motor in my 91' civic HB I would definity do a B-20 or B-18C( GSR ) not a B-16

Does that include mounts and ECU?

Cause I can get a DOHC ZC here for $650 with everything.
