Engine trouble

I was going into town with my truck. Its a 97 f-150. When i got half way into town it started to do a clanky noise and then it just wouldn't run. I know theres somethin broke but i don't know what. can anyone help

well there is your problem its a ford lol jk it could be just that you ran it out of oil or idk maybe sum one that likes to put up wit fords that have had experience with it can help you

sounds like harmonic balancer let loose you need to check see if you have spark first no spark no run.could be timing chain if it turns over fast like has no compreshon...but first see if your geting spark....good luck.....
