Guys says timing "might" be off... it'll cost me 150 for him to fix it... I'm not spending 150 on a maybe!

Do a tune-up, change the oil, make sure your cat is not clogged up, and buy yourself a timing gun and check the timing yourself. Easy to do and it definitely won't cost you 150 bucks.:)

Thanks guys... my dad and I checked the timing last night... he says he couldn't find the numbers or something? How are you suppose to tell how much it's tilted? We got a timing gun but all we saw was the little white mark and no numbers... or are we going at this all wrong? my dad is used to fixing toyotas so he's always complaining about how honda's parts are so poorly engineered.... blah blah blah... help?
Oh one more thing how do I check to see if my cat is clogged?

Change the oil and clean out the Throttle body before you go and make sure that the car is warm when they test it. Run it good and hard before you get there and try not to let it sit too long and cool off.

heres a how-to on c-speed racing.com....
http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/timing/timing.html

thats for a b18c, but its basically the same thing as on your civic motor
Is it failing when its at idle or when its under load, or both?

Might want to consider that facts that the cat is goin bad or you could have a bad 02 sensor.

If I had a bad o2 sensor wouldn't my ecu tell me?
I think I can replace the cat...

How much $ and trouble would it be to replace my cat and my o2 sensor?
I wouldn't have to get new headers would I?

Both r easy:

sensor is just a wrench or special socket.
cat is bolt in so it's just a few bolts.

The O2 senor cost like $18 bucks for a new one. The ECU won't always tell you if it's bad. Normal signs are lean running conditions, use more gas than should, maybe even gives out some black smoke when you shift. Try the O2 first. Oh when you try to change it use a propance torch or something to heat treads up a bit than put a wrench on it.
