take otu your old one, i had this problem, make sure before you buy a new or used one, look at the end of the cylinder, make sure they both look the same, mine had 2 circles, and the first one i bought to put in had a circle and a "T" looking thing.........I'll post a picture. I still have my old locked up one.

To get the old one out, take off the column cover, top half pops off and bottom is held in by 3 7mm bolts. once off, look on the back of the cylinder, and refer to this picture, where the pipe cleaner is sticking out on my pic is where a button is, that you gotta push. In order for the button to push in to release the cylinder to get it out, you must have the key turned into the on position, once button pushes in push it in and pull cylinder out, unclip the clip and voila, to put new one in, you gotta line up the end with the connector inside where the old one used to be, very easy. IF your key is completely seized like mine, and you cant get the button to push in to release the cylinder, you gotta get a very fine tipped flathead screwdriver wedge it in and PRY very hard until that button pops off. As shown in the picture it's only held in by a little weak thin sttrip of metal, it took me 10 minutes of prying to get it out, only because it was my first time changing one of these. Common problem on these cars. But make sure the holes are the same in both cylinders before buying, and if yours is auto, get an auto one, if standard, get one with the button on the cylinder beside the key opening. Hope that helps!
