94' accord ex problems

a couple of days ago my car started making this screeching noise and it only goes away when you put on the brakes. this car also has no cruise control, and burns up oil really fast. Can anyone give reasons for all of this?

Sounds like you have a brake problem like a hung caliper or worn out brake pads. What wheel (s) is it coming from? The oil burning problem could be many problems or just one. PVC valve, valve seals, worn rings, oil leak. Do you see blue smoke out the exhaust when driving after idleing the engine for awhile? How many miles on the engine?
