lowering/rims price idea

ok, so i got these subs installed, and i got some cash for grad, so basically i got about 2500 bucks, with rims costing about 1200 im guessing, what will i be lookin at for the best lowering kit/suspension i can get for around a grand. I want good quality stuff, that wont wreck in 3 months, so if that means a rougher ride or not so low, im game, i just want good stuff

Eibach Prokit + KYB AGX struts = 700-800 ish new ( possibly lower if you can snag a deal off ebay)

look @ coilovers, not lowering springs.

Good top of the line best suspension you can throw on one of these cars are the following from what i have heard.

* Tein SS Coilover with EDFC - $1,600 w/o EDFC $1,300
* Gravana Coilovers - $1,500
* RKSport Pro Street Coil overs - No longer made to my knowledge.


Everything here down is under $1,000, but real good.

* Ground Control Coilovers and Koni Yellow struts
* Tein Basic coil overs
* Eiback Sportlines and Koni Yellow / Tokico D-specs
* H&R
* Eibach Prokit w/ KYB AGX, Koni Yellow / Tokico D-specs
* Goldlines w/ Koni yellow or Tokico D-specs.


... there are new brands out there like Road Magnent springs that seem tobe ok, but have a clunking problem in the rear.

look @ coilovers, not lowering springs.

why's that? coilovers give up suspension trvel unless you are buying tein with a shortened strut.


I have Eibach sportline and AGX's = top notch combo.

I always thought and always been told you shouldn't use anything over 1.5" on AGX's. I've always been told to use Koni yellows or Dspecs with the Sportline kit. I currently have eibach prokit with AGX's

this is all people readin stuff wrong, the warranty doesn't cover a drop over 1.5" but this is actually the same for tokico and koni also, they just word it differently. you see when you lower the car you lessen the suspension travel. if you don't have good bump stops you can cause the piston to hit the end of the housing on the strut and or break the seal around the rod. Koni and Tokcio don't state they don't cover a drop of 1.5" over like KYB who specifically quantify but they would argue it if you made a warranty claim (tokico refer to it as 'extreme lowering' which is not covered). Tokico do mention on their warranty wording that they don't recommend going lower than 1.5"
