Low Trac, ABS...etc.

My wife and I own a '99 Alero. For the past several months we've had the ABS and Low Trac lights come on whenever we make any sort of hard left turn while moving. The brakes also come on, at times, when we slow to a stop at an intersection. I've read some of the other threads on this issue. My question is, is it worth spending the money to get it fixed? Are my wife and I in any sort of danger because of this? And, am I basically right to conclude that this is some sort of wheel sensor causing this problem? Note: I had the bearings fixed on the front wheels less than a year ago.

yes, it MIGHT be a wheel speed sensor....or it could be the wireing harness, or the traction system itself.
take your car to a shop or an advance auto and have the codes checked and see what they say. strong chances are its just the sensor which can only be replaced by replaceing the whole hub assembly (not hard at all).
the only things that will happen are that your abs won't work properly and your trac control will not function. i just turn off the trac system with the little button behind the shift stick. however, you will NOT pass inspection unless it is fixed.

We have emission tests where I live but you should pass one of these. I am assuming that the test "razial22" refers to is a safety vehicle inspection / test.

Here in Ohio we dont have thoes stupid tests. I like when you need to check a BRAND NEW car to make sure everything that works. I know is MA. and RI. they have to have it done. wast of money. Here, we just have an e-check, no sticker needed.

Holyoke, Ma?????I was born there!!!!!!!!wow....I was born at Provadence(sp)hospital. I was just up there a few weeks ago. I used to live on Bay state rd. How do you like it up there. I heard that provadence hospital is some kind of group home or something of that nature. Is this true?

I hate to get away from the subject of who lives where and what inspections are required, but to get back to the original issue of this post, one of your questions was "Are my wife and I in any danger because of this?".

If your ABS system is malfunctioning or your enhanced traction control system isn't working properly when turned on, you could be in danger if you have to make an emergency stop or manuever. ABS isn't required to stop the vehicle, nor is the traction system required to drive it, but they are both built-in safety features, so you should be aware that these things may not work at all or may work incorrectly and could put you and your wife at an increased risk.

You also said you had the front wheel bearings fixed less than a year ago, but there are also sensors connected to the rear wheel hubs that are part of the system. It could be one of them.
