'92 Legend - How to remove metal door edge damaged by thief?

Please bear with me, this simple problem is hard to explain!..
Someone tried to break into my Legend by prying back the black vertical metal piece at the rear edge of the front passenger window-not realizing that the door entirely frames the window. Now I am trying to remove this piece in order to reshape it.
On the back side, three screws hold it against the frame, but the piece is still snug and I don't want to break something by forcing it. Should I keep pulling and prying, or are there additional connections at the bottom of this piece (where it inserts behind the chrome strip along the top of the door)?
