Can anone shed some light on exactly what I can expect when replacing my intake gasket.
Also, Im currently away at college, 2.5 hours away from home, and I want to wait until I get home to replace the gasket. My truck has a considerable lack of power, at least initially, and rumbles more than it should. Will I be able ot make that 2.5 hour trip without it crapping out on me? Thanks in advance.

If it is losing power and making noise you have a bad problem.
May be other thing besides intake gasket.
It needs a proper checking out to find out what all is bad.
Does the engine oil have coolant in it?
I would not even drive it untill you fix it.
Driving it could damage engine beyond repair.
Search the how to section for info on replacing the intake gaskets.
It will involve removing and replacing the lower intake with a new type intake gasket
A good days work.
