What engine and 2or 4W and mileage.
Code does not say replace it it says check it out.
You will need a good engine capable scanner to check it out and see what is going on.
The pump Underside on the frame.
Check for other codes to.
I would check fuse and clear codes and see what it does.
If code comes back check with your dealer on TSB and recalls.
Also there may be some warranty on it.
On some there is tsb on repair.

What did they say the problem was or what it needed?
Is the air pump froze up or bad?
I would be looking around for a good repair shop.
Not sure what you problem is on it or what engine you have but a new air pump for a 4.2 engine is 212$ USA list. plus .7 hrs labor.
If you are going to fix it yourself.
I would start with one of these.

Good luck

Lots of info avail on the air injection reaction system. It is on 2004+ 4.2L trailblazers. Most likely your solenoid/check valve is stuck. A very easy repair. Check this thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=655875&highlight=air+injection+reaction
