College Graduate

As of around 4:00pm on Saturday May 12, 2007, I am officially a college graduate. Got my bachelors in Digital Media Technology at Columbia College Chicago.

I'm pretty siked, however, I have no job in my field. My interviews from a graphic design job ended up failing because my portfolio was too "dark". But we had a portfolio review/interviews with some industry people yesterday at the school year-end Manifest... which is a huge Arts festival with food, parades, gallerys, exhibits, and bands. I'll post a pic of my 3 peices later. I didn't get any really good shots, so yeah. So I've got some phone calls to make this coming week to these people. So we'll see how that goes. :popcorn:

Have you tried places like monster.com or snagajob.com? You might have a little luck there, I know a few people who did and got great jobs out of college. Good luck man.

niiice. i would say that only 10%-20% of the people i know are doing anything with their degrees, and the ones that are are in Masters programs and the likes.

my GF has a Dual Degree in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science with a Minor in Math. she is running around LA trying to be an actress doing home mortgages on the side. she turned down jobs at Boeing and Sikorski to come out to LA and chase her dreams, etc.


so don't trip, you will find something. the good thing is that you made it through. i would love the time to go back and finish colloge...

I'm not too worried about finding a job. I was really hoping for that other job, bc they wouldve started me on Monday basically. Right out of school. But I'm confident, and with the thought of working at Cingular in the back of my mind, that's my motivation.

Congrats David, I can't imagine the relief youre feeling right now! I have about 8 more months to go before I'm out. Bachelors aint no joke, really impressive that you got through it man!

congrats! I am still a year or so away, maybe more if I decide to take less credit hours... either way good job man! it IS a LOT harder than it sounds!

Thanks a lot guys. Ya I am relieved. It flew by though when I think about it. I kinda regret not taking full advantage of everything. I didn't have as much fun as I wanted to. I didn't come out with too many new friends from there. However, I got a couple friends and a g/f out of it. Can't complain too much.

I've been out since December of 2000. Although finding a good job and making a lot of money is really nice, the parties are never the same. :)
