Olds Died 2ce while driving.

So i own a 1994 Olds Ninety-Eight Regency Elite.

i've put more money into it then i care to discuss.

about a week ago, i was backing out of my driveway, and i put it into drive and the thing just died out on the road. It turned over but refused to start. Spark and Fuel were fine.

took it to the mechanics up the road. they seemed to think that it was my cpu. they figured it had something to do with my remote car starter shorting out my cpu. i questioned it. but they seemed pretty adamant.

so after waiting a week for them to tell me this and recieve the new computer. i finally get my wheels back and drive for about 3 hours, and the goddamn thing died out again.

Crank Position Sensor?

anyone have any idea what its going to cost me to replace one of them?

Please help. I dont want to have to break out the paddles for this boat.

Welcome to AF. Do you have spark when it will not start, fuel pressure at the rail, will it start with carb cleaner sprayed into the intake, this is the only way to diagnosis this.

like i said i have spark, and fuel. those were the first things i checked.

Again, will it start with carb cleaner sprayed into the intake, if so check for injector pulse with a noid lite, make sure no pcm fuses are bad. Having fuel means what, pressure at the rail?, but maybe the injectors are not activating, these are all part of the basic diagnostics for this problem.

oh what do you think his recourse is against the "shop down the street" that maybe screwed him on a new ECM job?

Ok, powertrain control module. Noid lite is a flashing device that plugs into the injector connector to check for pulse, I think, based on the tone of these questions you will need professional intervention here. PCM fuses power up all the components.
