Are those like the roller rockers you were talking about Xero? What are these lol :) Still learning all I can about engine things before I go nuts!

This my friend is a roller tipped rocker arm in 1.6 ratio (affectivly increasing your valve lift and reducing frictional losses). They go on top of the valve stem /spring underneath the valve cover on the top Left/right of your typical overhead valve engine. They are purported to decrease the oil temp by some 30 degrees and and may even free up some horse power do to less frictional power losses in the rotating parts. The higher ratio (1.6:1) should also allow a bit more air into the engine for a slight gain in HP as well. There are also full roller rockers (roller tipped as well as a bearing at the rocker pivot)available for the more popular high performance engines.

Correct Jim!
I also am using these 1.6:1 ratio roller rockers...
(not from that site though)
but I didnt pay that much :disapoin

mine were tall with the stock push rod guides so some hit the valve cover. After I ground and filed a few spots they are now perfect :D

Would I be able to use things things on my car with the MMS stage 2 package? Especially since nobody seems to be able to find complete roller rockers for the 3400 engine on our cars :(

Hum, those were for the 2.8/3.1 so I am not certain they would work....

Look at this page

They have the Gold Race Rockers (http://www.60degreev6.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=38)which are more like mine.
I do remember now paying almost $300 for them,
so I was wrong about getting them cheap!

ANd yes they will work with any head stage 1-3.
Though custom push rod lengths may be required.
I'm not certain about MMS's head specs as he keeps this hidden so people like me cant copy them for less :(

But when you goto build who ever does this will have to measure the geometry and lengths.

sounds complicated :p

I'll jsut grab stage 2 stuff and then figure out where to go from there lol

It can seem complicated. With different rockers they use different locks/bolts that hold them to the heads.
So some may require modifications to the push rod guides because if they arent correct on the angle in which they meet the rockers, then you can bend or break the push rods or even damage the heads in an extreme condition.

I got lucky and the push rods and valves set center to the rockers.
But because I used the stock length push rods with the rockers I have, they are taller by 2-3mm , so they tapped the valve covers. I could have either changed the push rods lengths or cut the rockers down. I found the valve covers were easier and cheaper to modify then to mess with cutting the purdy rockers :p

damn...... I should write a book
