i want the legend in my car but will it fit...c30A motor 265hp :) in a lil hatch...but not sure if it will fit without banging the firewall back and whatnot

It won't fit unless you got major $$$$

 Grrrr...i got like 4K for a swap but i mean damn how far will i have to push the firewall back  and how much to do mounts and get tranny and ecu all done..and new axels :) but think about it i would be looking at low 13s right off the bat :flipa: haha would be a sick swap:devil:

this post made me laugh!!!! sorry, not to be a jerk or anything, but there will be like NO WAY you will get a 3 liter engine in a 4g civic..... you will have to widen the car too, not just push the firewall back!! i mean, your gonna go from a 1.5 liter engine that fits fine, then you have the 1.6 which still leaves room, and so does the 1.8, then the 2.0 crv engine fits snug. it just barely fits in a hatch, and you CAN't get a h22 in there cause you gotta bang like everything in the engine bay, and now i read this post, and you wanna put in a 3 liter engine in a 4g civic? come on, not very realistic!! Sorry if i'm bieng a dick, i'm in a bad mood.....

sorry to cut your ego short but there is a 4g hatch running around florida with the legend in it (fiberglass front ends work wonders) so dont say its not possible with some $..shit i saw a crx with a C32A NSX motor in the hatch of the damn thing....so where there is a will there is a way

Where at in FL and who did the swap?
MyFirst4G
10-20-2002, 04:57 PM
well, first off, the nsx motor in the crx is the REAR WHEEL drive CRNSX. We've all seen the pics..... for a 4g hatch runnin around in florida, i'll believe it when i see some kinda proof, cause thats seams like a load of bull cause that seams highly unlikely.......

when i was in college in fl i saw it at towers (car show every fri. night) and i only saw him there 2 times but he did have the legend in it and a fiberglass custom front end...i will see if i can find pics

hehe yeah just chuck out the back seats and stuff and chuck the engine in the back .... look if ya have the cash i rekkon u can make most engines fit any car lol ........ just remember ya gonna need to do some serious upgrades to the rest of the car .... suspension , brakes .. etc ...
hehe .... sounds like a lot of work ... but then u would really have a one off car hehe and with a few mods to the engine not much could touch ya hehe
dont think it would be fun trying to corner the thing hehe ...

I'm pretty sure Emil posted them a week or two ago in these forums. 4th or 5th gen and hell, I've seen pics of a rover V8 in a mini in FWD configuration so ANYTHING is possible :)

its kinda like those twins that were joined at the head and they tryed to seperate but both died, well thats what this is kinda like, it looks good on paper and brainstorming but when you actually go to do it, three possible outcomes A.) You make it fit and everything works B.) Nothing fits and nothing works C.) You give up at 2am go to sleep, the next morning you buy a b20 and make that work.
but hey good luck

Viku has owned this car for ages. The car has been modified several times, rebuilt after a serious crash and had all kind of engines. The latest incarnation project includes an engine/gearbox transplant. The previous engine now resides in his roadster so new engine was needed. A practical joke (trial fit of his Rover V8 speedboat engine into a Mini) revealed that the Rover engine fits under the Clubman bonnet. Viku is also partly responsible for the fact that my Minor is now fitted with Rover engine. Anyway, his incredible idea of really fitting the Rover engine into a Mini is something else !! Surely there have been ambitious 16 valve projects but this must be one of the most extreme.

Lotus (I forget which one) always uses type-r motors.

Holy shit, now that's a mini, I always wanted an original mini but they want like 10,000 for an original mini over here in the US.
Wow I can't believe Rover's still using that V8, I hope it's aluminum block now. That V8 was originally designed by buick in the early 60's I believe, Never quite worked for them though, but Land rover saw the potential and they bought the rights to it. Wow I really want a mini now.
