3D sound

Hello everyone!

I recently found this. (http://minds-farm.blogspot.com/2007/05/virtual-sound.html) I just don't know why we need 5 or more speakers if we want to hear 3D sound.

They are taking advantage of the fact that humans have developed a way of interperting sound to determine where it is coming from. It has to do with the time difference between the two ears. You dont have to wear headphones it works with speakers but not as good because the waves mix before reaching your ear.

There is actually another cool thing you can do with sound and headphones. The brain also functions on frequencies although they are well out of the human hearing range. You can play a tone from in one ear and a slightly higher tone in the other and if the difference in freq. is the same as one the brain uses it can control your mood.

Its called BrainWaves its a pretty neat little thing. There is a program to get 8 hours of sleep in 30minutes (extremely useful), one that makes you concentrate which is good for studying and one that just helps you relax.

I haven't messed with the program in a while... I think I am going to start again.

Thanks for explanation stepho. Probably in the same way works mozart music. Did anybody heard for mozart effect? If you listen that music, it helps you concentrate, sleep, give you energy, improve you intelligent. And I know people that they listen that music all time and guess what, they are successful, I mean really successful :)
