Did you see the engine are in mid position..... ?(a 4rotory engine)

I don't think they were trying to copy the McLaren. I think they were trying to copy the Yamaha ox99-11, in which they did a great job.

It may not. While cleaning some magazines off a basement shelf, I just stumbled on an Option magazine from Japan that has the RE-Amemiya debut at the 1996 Tokyo Auto Salon.
I could be wrong because the TAS version was a different color. But usually the tuners in Japan wont reveal until the TAS.

ah, it its 96 then yes, its after the Yamaha. I worked on the OX99-11 as work placment back in 93. It was then killed off in very early 94, shame as the OX was a pretty slick piece of kit under that body ;)
