Well ive been thinking about what to do and i have a good price for a SX 18". And one of the Atlas 15"s will be my new house sub.
But i looking at a 4.5-5 cuft enclosure ported to something like 28hz, and a MM1000.1D. If money permits. I might go with a larger enclosure and go with 2 but im not sure yet. I think the single 18 will thump nicely.
What do you guys think.

I ran the sx 18" for a while.
Give it 8 cubes at 32hz

I was trying to stay away from 8 cubes. But i will take some measurements. What way should i face the sub up, back towards the tailgate is what i was thinking.

If i leave the trim panels in i have enough room for 10.5 cuft. If i take them out i have another 1.5 cuft. So i could go as big as 12. And that keeps it at the same level as the back seat.
I was trying to go something like 5 so i have room to mount the amps between the encosure and the tailgate, instead on on the enclosure it self.
I have the room, but the weight and the way i want everything setup is what im trying to work out.
Remember i have about 45-50" of space up ward, 30" from seat to tailgate, and i think 37" with the trim in. If not more so i could make a massive enclosure.

remember in a box that big, internal bracing will be a must

i usually use 1x1 cedar or pine, also makes a nice area for some more screws to hold it together.
I have enough room to make a 5.25 cuft enclosure, with about 8 inches so i can make a slanted amp rack between the enclosure and the tailgate.

Make sure you take the bracing into consideration when thinking of box size. The sx loves 8 cubes after displacement. Do at least 6.5 after, or get a diff. sub.

I think i can swing a 6 cuft enclosure with no preoblem the seats that are goign in the back are alot taller than the factory bench so that extra height will allow for the taller box. But as it all happens i will have plenty of pics and vids.
