You could find a better yellow. But the Orange Mist would be a pretty cool color too. Are you getting Scale Motorsport C/F decals from Hobby World? I'm kinda getting fed up with those guys, they can't get anything. Their Suppliers don't even carry those nice sanding sticks anymore, so they just have these really crappy ones. (btw I'm not talking about the online store, our local hobby shop goes by the same name)

Hobby World doesn't carry Scale Motorsport stuff, but I thought I'd see what these other decals looked like. Might have to order some Scale Motorsport decals online. And yeah I noticed that they haven't got any new stock for the FLEX-I-FILE sanding sticks, they just have the bulk pack left.

I was at Canadian Tire and all the yellows there were really pale, I did find Sunrise Orange, it looks a lot more orange than in the picture. So should I go with Sunrise Orange??? Orange Mist???? I need some feedback people!!! lol

Sunrise Orange is an interesting color. thought about picking it up a few times myself. But for this build, I almost think something a little more flashy would go good. I say Orange Mist!! DO IT!!!

Ok I stripped the yellow, did some sanding and then laid some primer, then the Orange Mist, now suddenly I have lots of gouges and scratches that weren't there before, so I guess some more sanding!!! YAY!!!

I got my C/F decals today also, so I'll try C/Fing something for the first time.

Also should I keep the black/yellow interior? I'm not sure if I like it, I do like the black and yellow, just not sure if it goes with the orange, what do you guys think?

light gunmetal and bright red would look much better with the orange mist, in my opinion.

personally, I thought the yellow was a much better color choice, but again, my opinion, just ignore me, because that looks really nice. just a bit dark for such a flashy car. might also be the lighting.

orange mist looks way better than yellow, even with the scratches.

the yellow interior doesnt look bad, its your car, change it if you want to :naughty:

if it was my model i would change the insde to the orange mist to keep it uniform the yellow just makes it look a little bit out of place Me personaly i would do the orange and carbond seats look with carbond detail in the inside of door but im carbond fiber crazy...............runaround :screwy:

What did you use to strip the yellow? It's possible the yellow was thicker paint so it kinda filled some of the gouges and scratches. I LOVE the way the orange mist looks though. It looks way better than I even thought it would. The yellow does seem a little outta place, but it doesn't look too bad either, so I dunno on that one. Just some advice, don't get ahead of yourself. I know, it's hard to resist putting the color on, but if you take your time and make sure the surface is flawless, it'll be completely worth it in the end. Especially with how great this build is so far. It's gonna be SA-WEEET!!

Well I'm on the final steps of getting this thing done:
- put some more CF decals on the hood then clear it
- attach the wheels
- find some nice ribbon for seatbelts, then install seats

and that about it, then its done...finally! Here are a few updated pics of everything, I'll be sure to post lots of pics up in the Completed Gallery when its done!

what is that white paper looking thing that you used to form the wide body?

That would be styrene sheet. You can buy sheets of thin plastic at your hobby shop for stuff like this. It's use a lot for scratch building as well as styrene tubeing and aluminum tubeing.

Awesome work! The doors are simply beautiful. Loving everything about it. Did you frost the rear lights btw? The rims set it off perfectly.

I actually sanded off the pattern from the inside of the tail light lens, so that you could see the custom tail lights better. But I think I'm going to take them off and dip them in some Future Floor Wax to get all the tiny scratches out.

And yeah I don't think that there is a better set of rims for this car then the Racing Hart Type CR's, they are the icing on the cake lol. You can't really see it in these pics but I made the rear rims deep dish. I'll get some better pics up soon so you can see.

From what I can see it looks like you did a really good job with the c/f decal on the hood!! It's really coming together and looking great. I think this is probably the best one you've done so far.
