2000 Sentra 2.0 SE - MAF Problem?

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if I'm diagnosing this correct: ECU has been throwing P0171, system too lean, for over a year now, but there has been no performance problems until a month ago. The car started "bucking" whenever it was accelerating, especially if it hadn't been used in a while. Now, today, it seems to have gone into a limp mode and it maxes out at 20 mph and bucks uncontrollably. It seems to be the worst whenever I fully depress the accelerator (sounds like the engine is choking). If I repeatedly depress and release the accelerator, it will gradually rev up to 3500 rpm, but I have trouble getting it to go higher.
Is this the mass air flow sensor? I've heard a lot of Sentras have MAF problems. I kinda feel like an idiot for not taking care of this sooner, but now it's time to get this Sentra back in action.
If it is the MAF, does anyone have any suggestions on the best place to grab one? The 2.0L engine is rare compared to the 1.8L, so I'm having trouble finding parts.
Thanks!
Anthony

you should be able to use a MAF from almost any SR, just make sure the plug is the same. ebay, classifieds, junkyard are all good sources if you dont wanna spend alot.

ive heard things like the throttle positioning sensor and things.
if it was the maf, your car would start up, and it would be hard for it to hold idle. would jump around like crazy.
you could disconnect your maf and start the car. if no problem there, then its your maf. a brand new one will run ya 224 and some change from courtseyparts.com. i bought one from them, and it was delivered quickly to me.
i have a spare one around, all it needs to be done is to be cleaned with electronics cleaner and shipped. ill clean it and see what happens.
