Brakes, Ceramic, Metallic or Semi-Metallic?

Sup Guys,
I purchased a new set of crossed drilled rotors and am a little unsure as to which type of brake finish to get Ceramic, Metallic or semi metallic? Which material would be most effective with this type of rotor? Any feedback would be greatly appreciate.
Thanks

i have semi metallic on my dual piston calipers with brembro slotted/drilled rotors, and i stop on a dime! they squeek every now and then when they are hot, and i'm just barely touching the pads to the rotors... but stops like hell! i have axxes pads... :1: for them

I use ceramic Akebono pads and absolutely love them. Minimal dust, no brake fade, squeeling, or spongyness to the pedal regardless of how hard I brake.

Well if they put ceramic pads on the veyron they probably good enough for the eclipse

Thanks for the feedback.
One last question, is it necessary to bleed the brakes after I install the new rotors and brake pads?
If so is it hard? I've never done it before.
Thanks

It's easy to do and I think I had a write up on here from when I replaced mine. I'll see if I can dig it up.

It's usually not necessary as long as you don't open the bleeder valves or anything on the brake calipers. I usually just use a C-clamp and depress the brake cylinders. This forces the fluid back into the system and maintains the integrity of the system.(By that I mean not allowing air into the lines) So in short if you use that method no bleeding is needed.
Also Ceramic brake pads ftw.

ceramics need to get warmed up[and therefore have a much higher operational temp range, hence racing] before you are at optimal braking potential.
for most everyday driving [and even a litttle stoplight fun] you just want the brakes with the least dust.
or you could go all out and get some
Porterfield Carbon/Kevlar Brake Pads (http://roadraceengineering.com/eclbrakes.htm)

Thank for your feedback guys, you all have been a great help.
I finally installed the crossed drilled rotors and opted for monroe ceramic pads. I took the time to paint the calipers and after getting it done I have to say it looks pretty damn good. However I do have one problem, the brakes on the driver side squeek when im coming to a slow stop. I made sure to add grease between the shims and the brake pad and tighten all the bolts pretty tight, I dont know what it could be, Any ideas?
Thanks again.

Did you break the brakes in?
By this I mean making a series of hard stops at varying speeds.
I know there is a write up somewhere on this.
Edit for clarity.

get up to high RPM in 2nd, hard break to stop, repeat 3 or 4 times. if you see smoke stop, but it should only take like 3 times.

Yeah I thought there was more to it, maybe I'm thinking of something else. What you described is normally what I do. I just thought there was something a little more indepth that I had seen.
