Clutch chatter ftL?

I talk to this guy, who lives close, to me on b15sentra, who has a VQ spec. I'm considering buying his stage for CF clutch. He told me it has under 3k miles on it. The reason he has the clutch, is because he didn't know that the VQ swap required the Maxima clutch, so he got screwed. He seems like a nice guy, he's offered to help me out on a bunch of stuff for my spec. I saw pictures of the clutch, and it looks in great condition. He said it's an 800+ dollar clutch, and he has had it laying around for a while. He said he will give it to me for 200 dollars. Keep in mind, he lives 20 minutes from me, and the clutch won't be shipped, so I'm not going to get burned that way.

One problem... he says the clutch chatters a little bit. I kind of have an idea of what clutch chatter is, but what exactly is it. Will you have chatter with most performance clutches? How obnoxious is it, and can it be heard from outside of the vehicle? He says "chatter is just a sound of the clutch almost engaging but not quite. while you are letting out the pedal slowly, the tranny will make a 'chattering' noise. "

chatter is kind of something you have to deal with if you want the grip of a 4 puck clutch. otherwise it looks decent. it does have a sprung hub so it shouldnt be horrible with pedal stiffness. check to see if it has marcel springs. those can help with stiffness also.

the pictures were too bad of quality to see what the condition really is. make sure the disc isnt glazed, and make sure the pressure plate isnt grooved or scorched at all.
