This is the root cause of a P0300 (Random Misfire) error code on a Chevy 207 V-6:

They drove it in that way. A previous mechanic changed the #5 injector thinking that was a problem. I thought you people might get a kick out of that one. The #4 exhaust rocker was the same way (on the other bank).

Seems no one thinks of the basics any more, everything is pcm/sensor related. Top of that valve looks bad also.

Great photo, They probably save gas running it as a 4 cyl.:grinyes:

Sooo ... they converted it into a 3 cylinder to save gas. Nice, will have to try that with my 350!

hey man that seems to be a common problem wit the 3.4L engines. i work as a gm tech and ive also ran into that same problem on a grand am.

I've been able to save those by installing Chris-Lynn thread inserts (Definitely NOT Heli-Coils) without even removing the heads. That one was about a three hour repair, since I was on the right (rear) head for three of the rockers and the left (easy) head for only one.
