odometer dropped to another value

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and i have a weird problem with my voyager 98, 3.0L engine base model. This morning, i found out that it completely drained the battery over the weekend and was making a fast clicking sound when i opened the door, even before inserting the key. So i jump-started it and found out that the odometer dropped from 89K km to 55K km?!?!!? (not just reset to 0). The speedometer quit working as well. No PCM codes, just the HVAC flashing (which is ok and caused by a dead battery, i assume). The car also felt much ligher and quickier on the road this morning; lately, it was hardly pulling and drinking lot more gas.

I'm presuming something is completely wrong with the PCM itself but i'm not familiar with these cars so i'm just guessing. Can anyone suggest what to do?

Thank you

For the speedometer try going under the hood and pulling the IOD fuse for a few minutes then reinsert , this resets the bcm and possibly fixing the speedometer. For the climate controls.

With engine on set blower motor to high, set mode position knob to panel (i.e. full left), open all A/C outlets, set temperature to cold (both levers if so equipped). Now press the wash and rear wiper buttons on the A/C panel simultaneously for 5 seconds (until all LED's light). This should get the test started. Assorted lights on this panel will flash as different tests are run. Eventually if the tests are passed the rear wiper LED should be the only light flashing. Push the rear wiper button to exit test mode and you should be home free.

89K km is 55K miles. I bet that it somewhat managed to switch from km to miles. That being said, I have no clue how to change it back.

Good Luck!
