anybody knows if there is a filler plug for this Trans?

I have a dipstick tube but just wondering.

Fill it through the tube.

Yes, you have the sweet tranny with the sweet set-up - fill through the dipstick tube. TRUST ME, be very thankful that you DON'T have to use a fill-plug!

I think with the filler plug, you can not overfill since it spills out.

with the dipstick if you're not careful, you can overfill.

:) If you just drained it, it will take about 5 qts. for Dextron III, and if you took the pan off it will hold really close to 6 qts more. Andie:)

Actually I just did a drain and refill last weekend. It only came out about 3.6 qt. I poured the old fluid in a milk jug and measure it.

5 qts seems a little too much. Maybe we have a different trans then.

btw, why does it hold more if you take the pan off ?

and don't you have to buy a new gasket and everything else if you take the pan off ?

got a question for you Andie since you have a rodeo 04.

is your oil drain plug a 22mm or a 17mm hex bolt?

mine is a 22mm and even the dealer says it should be a 17mm hex.

:) If yours is not a 4wheel Drive they could be different, they are different types of the Aisin Transmissions, (Jerry Lemon, who probably knows more about Isuzus than anyone in North America, and a sweety too) said there were 4 types, 2 for the 3.2 lt, one for 2 wheel and one for 4 wheel. And the same for the 3.5lt.
When u drop the pan u will have to replace the gasket materail they have on it now, either a formed gasket or gasket making stuff will work. I just prefer real gaskets. Easier to get off the next time.
My drain plug is 14mm, and heres a pic to explain why it all wont drain

The transfer case had about a 23mm or so drain and fill plugs.

but nothing like that on the transmission. If anyone can tell me about this transfer case I sure would be appricative. Andie:)

yep my atf pan is like that too. it did drained but only about 3.6 or 3.75 qts, almost filled a milk jug. but that's it.

I drained and refilled twice to get about 65% of new fluid in there.

I think next time I will do it thru the oil cooler line.

I have a 2-wd drive so no transfer case for me.

Andie, what is your engine oil drain plug size? 22 mm right?
