2001 Regal Instrument Cluster Removal

Well I've finally had enough of no odometer and have purchased one off the net to replace the current one. I've purchased the Haynes book for the Regal, but it combines other models as well and covers a rather large year range.

Any trick to removing the dash trim to get to the cluster?

Step-by-step instructions would be appreciated. One of these days I'll have the low bid on the 3-book service manual on this car and I'll be able to return the favor.

No step by step instructions but we should have some old posts on dash bezel removal. That complete one piece plastic dash bezel has to be removed to remove the IP Cluster. Carefully so it does not break. The bezel is held by various fasteners. Then the IP Cluster is held by a few screws. On the back of IP are a few electrical connectors.

Also, it helps to remove the headlight switch assembly even though the hole in the bezel is big enough to get over the knob.
