RSX Type S Availability and Price

Hello all. I'm a newbie here so my questions may have already been asked. I read as many posts as I could but couldn't find anyone else asking these questions:

Is/are there any (legitimate)availability problems with the Type S? Some dealers have indicated that the car must be pre-ordered well in advance. Is this true? Are they trying to make me pay MSRP? Cause if they are they can bite me!

Also, I'm not going to modify or add anything to this beautiful car, but I can't wait to see what some enthusiasts will do with it. Maybe if there is a relatively conservative body kit down the road, I may consider a modest update. But I love it for what the engineers and the design team at Honda has done with it. This car is definately a wolf in sheeps clothing. Although I can appreciate some individuals desire to advertise how fast their car is, I prefer a more low key approach. I think the only option I want when I purchase it (which I've been dreamin' about for almost a month) is the color: Black.

Peace...

Right now, the demand is exceeding their supply. I also have had that experience, but, they are able to get the car. I don't have to pre-order. I'm also looking into getting a black RSX, second choice Desert Silver metallic.

Actually this car looks pretty darn lusty in all of its offered colors. Black is just the baddest though! Another consideration is the interior color. Unfortunately most of the other exterior colors force the buyer to take on that awful putty colored interior. Of course color choice is personal IMHO, but putty? YUCK!

Whenever a new model comes out intial demand will outweight supply.

My friend got a Type S for below MSRP. He also had it delivered to his house in 2 days. But then his dad knows the manager at Acura.

Looks like I won't be having any RSX fun until around Christmas then. There is no way I'm giving a dealer more than 4-5% over invoice. It just ain't gonna happen. I want the car, but I don't want to be rapped. Bending over is no fun.
