Shorted out door poppers???

OK so i bought a 2001 hyundai accent 1.6 dohc auto tranny cute little car. when i bought it it was and still is in the middle of being converted to a show car. 3 of the 4drs are shaved and the front two doors have the autoloc door pops on them. the problem is this... In November I let my exs mother drive the car. I told her to leave the windows up due to the impending rain and not having a weather strip inside the car. what does she do... leaves the window down thus shorting something out with the poppers. i know there is some type of charge still running threw the wire as i get shocked everytime i go to manualy open the car from the inside driver door ( havent replaced the inside door handles yet ). I cant find a fuse or the actual box that controls the pops. Can anyone please give me other ideas how to fix this without ripping everything apart and paying outragous prices to have it fixed. i have mechanical skills and know i can do it myself just dont know where to start.
