Front Brake Procedure...Help!

It's time to change the front pads on my '03 ZTW and I was wondering if anyone would know where I could find a step by step procedure. Any special hints or things to look out for? I'm gonna' pick the pads up tomorrow and hope to tackle it some evening this week.

I've changed the front pads and rear shoes on my Nissan truck, but have never touched the brakes on my Focus.

Any help, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Front brakes are easy! Simply remove the wheels after properly supporting the front of vehicle with jackstands of course.

You will need to remove the spring clip with a screwdriver, but be careful not to bend it up or be careful it don't fly off and take your eye out.

Next remove the 2 plastic covers from the caliper mounting bolts and remove the bolts with a 7mm Hex socket.

Pull off the caliper and remove the pads. You can also whack the rotors off with a hammer and change them while you are at it.

The rotors seem to be fine so I don't think I'll need to change them, but I'll give them a much closer look when I get the car jacked up with the wheel off.

Someone told me that the caliper mounting bolts would be either a Hex key or a Torx key, so thanks for taking the mystery out of that issue.

Thanks again; hope to tackle it this week.
