Hi everybody,

I have a 1991 Lincoln Continental and i am having problems with the automatic locking trunk. Your suppose to be able to just lightly close the trunk and the mechanism will pull the trunk down and lock it, but just today the mechanism stopped working. The trunk closes but not all the way. It sticks up about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. The car hasnt been driven much within the past 2 yrs, so i dont know if that affected it or not. I dont know much about Lincolns so any input would help me out.

Thanks.

Hi XCon :) Welcome...

Normally a microswitch dies in the assembly. Since the switch isn't available separately, some folks have luck monkeying with it, and others just replace the whole pull-down assembly.
