Hi Folks,
I have a 2002 24V that just turned 40,000 mi. and am about to change the coolant. Question: If I put the rear wheels on my drive up ramps, then open the pet cock, will I get MORE of the coolant out??
Thanks for any thoughts,
Rob Roy

I suppose you might get a bit more out of the block, but if you keep the car level you should get plenty out.
If you use a flush tee and garden hose to flush the cooling system, you'll probably get even more coolant out.

If you use a flush tee
We've looked everywhere for one of these for our 2004 but couldn't find anything that would work. Gen 2 and 3 Taurus yes, gen 4 no. If anyone locates one that works, please post where you bought it :)

Hmmm, what about the 2004 prevents a tee from working? Do they have non-standard heater hoses?
Another option is picking up one of the adapters that installs in series with the upper radiator hose. Granted you wouldn't leave one of these installed, but it would allow you to flush most of the system. I don't know where you'd find one of these, but I bet you could order one from a place that sells cooling system recycling stations.
