Works fine with me; however, I tried getting in touch with Hiro twice last month and got no responce. When his site was briefly down I posted a thread on it and he offered an email for people to reach him while his site was down. I tried that and getting in touch with him through his website. Is there a better way? I have a couple of questions about what he sells and dont want to be buying things that might not even be what I was looking for.

Still can't access the site at all or anything connected with it.I've sent Steve an e-mail to see if there are any problems and am waiting to hear back from him.I just keep getting the same message 'cannot connect to the server at www.hiroboy.com' Every other site on my bookmarks I can access so I really can't think what else the problem is? I remember a post before on the same subject and at that time I could access it when others couldn't.Must be a revenge thing!!! I only wanted to order some paints and things, never mind.

Guys,
It may not be you or your machines. I'm on BT Openworld and aside from one or two US sites, everything is working. Steve and Chris, which ISPs are you using ? It could be worth checking their website for technical reports and possible router failures. If one of those goes down, not much you personally can do about it.
In the meantime, think of all that web surfing time that you'll save and can now use to finish those masterpieces. And as you can get on here, you can still post those wonderful WIP piccies :)

i) check your calenders.
last weekend was a UK bank holiday.
the last time he shut his site down was because of a holiday, if i recall correctly, and it is likely to be the same thing again.
i mean come on, do you really expect the guy to work 24/7/365?

DM, I don't think that Steve "switches off" his web site when he goes on Holiday
The site is working fine, it's more a technical isuue with these guys' ISPs and blocked IPs or somethng. Similar things sometimes happen with freebie email accounts - some servers blacklist them as possible spam originators. For example, a few people in Germany and Italy were not receiving emails from me until I switched supplier.

er... it's 5am here and i'm not reading threads properly.
i thought i read that people aren't getting orders through a la hlj/1999 holiday periods; not that it wasn't opening the site.
maybe i do need to sleep after all.

I still can't access the Hiroboy site which is really annoying, but I phoned Steve up on Friday and he couldn't have been more helpful.I have a solution to the problem now as he takes my orders over the phone so it's not a total loss.At least I can still get the things I want.I hope it will return to normal though as I do miss browsing the site for all the new items etc.

Maybe you have a firewall what blocks this site. Or if you have a router it's possible that your router blocks the access.

I`ve been having the same problem. It`s not my ISP (Virgin Media) because I`ve been on to them. Guy in the call centre in India can access the site and I can`t. Sob!
I`ve cleared all cookies, temp folders etc. I`ve even used system restore to go back to a period before my last order with them but no good.
i`ve tried all the address variants i can think of without success. I`ve now run out of ideas.
No problems with any other site at all.
Annoying thing is, I only just found the site a month or so ago. Put in a small order to see how it went (V good) and now I remember there were some nice decal sets on there but can`t remember the details.
Oh well, at least it`s not just me.

For reduce space in this forum I put my question here because I'm also having problems with Hiroboy's site.
Anyone can enter to www.hiroboy.com ?? I still waiting and the website doesn't open, also the same for http://www.spc.org.uk/
Maybe there is a problem with the server..
Thanks for all!!

It seems that some people are unlucky enough to have ISPs (or something) that either block access to the site or vice versa :(

I've managed to access the site by going to this site www.myinternetisblocked.com and typing in the www.hiroboy.com/catalog address. If I do this I can browse the site no problem. But you can't order online because it's not a secure server.I am baffled as to why I can't access it normally.I could up until about 3 weeks ago, then all of a sudden I get the 'can't find the server message' Something must be blocking my access but I have no idea what? And why is it only this site and not all the others I visit that work as normal?

Steve, Have you had any viruses or worms lately? It is the only thing I can think of right now prohibiting us from getting in. I've been in contact with my ISP and they are able to access it from their computers.
They've been giving me things to try and so far nothing has worked.
I have to wonder if it's something on the UK end. I keep getting a server not found message through Firefox. The ISP guys are going to be befuddled soon...

Hi Steve,
I am also having troubles with Hiroboy's site - I can view and browse your site perfectly, but can not create an account to place an order. I have tried several times for the last couple of weeks, and even sent an email to the site administrator ([email protected]) but got no answer till now.
Thanks,
Loreti

Hi Guys.Well thanks to the help of a friend I have managed to get back onto the website with no problems and it works normally again. Also the other site I couldn't access (a camera battery site) also works again with no problems.I will try to explain how I got it to work again and it really was simple in the end. Here goes.I am using Windows XP Home.
1:Left click Start Menu,Go to settings,Control panel.
2.Go to Network and Internet Connections.Left Click the network connections icon. This brings up a page which shows your internet connection (an Icon) Double click the icon for your internet connection. This brings up another page with 2 tabs, general and details.
3.On the General tab click Properties.Click the Networking tab.Make sure the box that says Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is checked (has a tick in it) On the same page click properties. On the next page change the numbers in the bottom 2 boxes to the following (record the numbers that are already there in case this doesn't work and you can put your original ones back in.)
New numbers prefered DNS server 208.67.222.222
Alternate DNS server 208.67.220.220
Click Ok,Restart your computer connect to the internet and try the hiroboy site. That's it.It worked for me.Give it a try.If it doesn't work you haven't lost anything.Just put the old numbers back in that you wrote down. All my websites work fine again now so it did the trick.I can get the SPC forum site as well now.It apparently works by using a different more reliable DNS server to look up the sites.Whatever that is.I hope this helps some of you.

Thanks Steve,
I'm glad I got it working. You have some great new items on the site since I last visited and it's only been a few weeks I've been away.Once I get the Benetton finished I'll be having a good browse and placing some more orders. The way the site is expanding it'll soon be the 'One Stop Model Shop'.Keep up the great work.
Best Regards,
Steve Noble.

HI!
I ordered some stuff from Hiroboy three weeks ago, and I got the notification email, from Protox about the transaction. I have already ordered some stoff from him without problem, but now there could be some touble with my order because I can't see my orders in my orders history and my orders still in the shopping cart. I've tried to contact with Hiroboy but I got no answer! Can you help me what could be my problems solution?
Thanks Bazsi

Please contact me direct using PM or email about this and NOT on the forum,
At the moment we are getting about 150 emails a day and can't get to them and pack up and send all the xmas orders.
It looks like the order did not finalize correctly (often cause by customers no waiting for it to return to hiroboy.com before closing the browser etc). Please tell us OFF the Forum the Protx Transaction number and your email address used for your account and we will clear up the problem.
