:uhoh: I have a 1990 TC, and when I put the AC on it feels like my transmission is slipping. When I don't us the AC the car rides great. Any idea what this might be. This car has 56,000 miles and I love it, but i'm afraid to put on the AC since I think the trans will go. Thank You. Joe.

Hi Joe... Welcome to the forums...
Here's what I think is going on.. not to disrespect your diagnosis so far..
I believe you may have a Vacuum leak somewhere in the HVAC system causing a stumbling with the engine running.
I'm not too sure how you can isolate the symptoms. Do you hear any vacuum hissing when you change the Climate Controls? Do you feel any stumbling or hesitation at idle, or at idle in Drive when you move the Climate Controls?
There's two other things to check, the TV Kickdown Bushing (http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00052.html) and, if you haven't done so yet, the EGR channels (http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00015.html) under the EGR valve. These EGR channels clog more frequently as your total mileage increases, but the cleaning is easy, and well worth it in performance.

That tv cable adjustment link that Steve posted really saved my 91 TC from being parted out. It's back quite aways but you should check it out. Good info to know. Search on my old screen name lz7xml or it's probally on the lincolnsonline website.
