So, it's time for a new head gasket! Have a few questions.

What's involved in this? I'm fairly mechanic minded but have never delved this far into my engine.

Can I do it in a week if I take it slow?

What brand/type of gasket should I replace it with?

You need to be able to remove the cylinder head, and put it back on. I'd suggest looking for a factory service manual for step by step instructions.

You can probably do it in one or two days even if you take it slow.

I'd recommend buying the gasket at the dealer, Honda parts are always good quality.

Yes, definetly get a book, even if it's just a Haynes.
You'll need it for the torque specs too.
And that is critical for doing it right.
If you have a few miles on it I'd suggest a valve job from your local
machine shop while you have the head off.
It'll really restore the performance.:smokin:

head gaskets are easy to change.. dont forget to buy new head bolts too, honda uses torque to yeild bolts so they are not reusuable.. buy a FSM (i prefer a Helm manual, best ive seen by far!) www.helminc.com (http://www.helminc.com)
