As I'm sure most of you have heard by now that LP is finally putting out a new album, the first one since Meteora in March of 2003. The name of the album is

And the album comes out on May 15th, I for one will be going out on that day to buy it. Whos with me?

As much as I like Linkin Park and both of their albums so far have been very good, I probably won't go out and buy it. I will wait to hear a few songs online, and then most likely end up downloading the album if I like the few samples I hear.

Bands that you truely enjoy should be supported instead of cheated... I'm not saying I don't download music, but I do it to see if I like albums that certain bands put out that I'm not so crazy about. If I end up truely enjoying a band then I'll buy their CD. Bands like Linkin Park and Evanescence though, I 100% support already and actually buy their CD's as soon as I can. You can count on my to be buying it! :)

I agree completely, I'm a semi-die hard Linkin Park fan. I've bought all there albums including Mike Shinodas Fort Minor and most of the tributes made to them.

I too will be buying this cd upon release. I have bought their last two albums and both of them have deep meaning to me because of the times they came out. Especially Meteora because I happened to be in Iraq when that cd was released. It reminds me of different times and my own personal termoil. I am excited for the new album because maybe it will reference the frame of time that I am in now.

The bands see very little compensation through you buying a CD, most of it goes to the record companies who have billions anyway. I will just go to their concerts, that's where they make their money and how a true fan will support them.

I almost went to a LP concert in Pittsburgh but like 3 months before the show they were almost sold out all that was left was the nose bleed seats. I'll go to one eventually, so I'll be a true fan.
I don't know if you guys are aware that Chester is going to be putting out an album of just his own stuff kind of like what Mike did from the band. This album sounds like its mostly Chester singing not much of the regular rap rock mix.
Overall after listening to the album again this morning, these are my thoughts:
-more language (f bomb here and there)
-less anger
-good flow
-less rap rock mix
-not even close to as hard as Hybrid Theory was.

So has anyone heard the new album or what?
Also for those of you near NY, Linkin Park is going to be at Darien Lake and Syracuse this year. Unfortunetly I probably won't be able to go to either one.

I've heard a few songs
What I've Done
The Little Things that Give You Away
Given Up (a sh!tty vers!on)
They're ok, I like them... They just lack that Linkin Park feel that I got from Hybrid Theory
In other news, Anyone heard the new Papa Roach(released last year, but new to me)... I'm liking it... (The Paramour Sessions)
Forever
Reckless
No More Secrets
I Devise My Own Demise
(Just a few that I've heard/liked)

I liked that album as well, unfortunately it was stolen :(
I've downloaded a few of the songs, now I'll probably get the RIAA on my back and have to pay $25k for an album I once owned... :banghead:
^to be honest with ya, I haven't bought new music in awhile... I've had lots of CDs come up missing and I got tired of buying stuff when everyone is going to steal it from me...
I've backed up most of my CD's on my external HD and have a/b 12gb of music (now watch the HD get stolen)

I wasn't impressed. They took away a lot of Mike Shinoda's rapping and it just dosn't sound as good...the mood is a lot more laid back and the lyrics on some of the songs are also a little whack. An example from "Given Up"
"I've given up ... I'm sick of feeling... Is there nothing you can say'... Take this all away.. I'm suffocating... Tell me what the fuck is wrong with me! GOD!
I mean c'mon guys, we've heard all this before to a different beat. Give me something new. Chester is rich as fuck now and I'm sure his life is not all that bad so it's not so convincing anymore.
Just not vintage Linkin Park I guess. I didn't even bother to download half the songs...

Agree that they seem to be doing the same lyrics just a different beat but hey it still sounds good if your looking for a good sound. And I too am bummed about the lack of Shinoda in this one, that's always been a huge part of why they made it big, it's a mix of rap+rock=good music.

I've been a fan since the first time I heard "In The End" off of Hybrid Theory and no matter how much they've changed over the years I'll still go out and buy there album no matter what.

Hybrid Theory came out when I was in 8th grade I believe. We covered 'one step closer' at the talent show. We opened up with korn's 'blind' and right after the blind intro like before the verse, we went right into 'one step closer' and played the whole song. Good times.

I didn't pay much attention to this thread (though I noticed it), but I was downloading some songs for my wife to put on her Ipod and one of the albums I downloaded was this one. Holly shit, it's a "smooth" album. It's consistent, soft toned and a good album. Reminds me alot of the old school NIN.

I'm the kind of person that sings in the car all the time so its become a bad habit for me to listen to the same album over and over again especially LP's albums, but this album I've listened to all the way threw several times and I am really disappointed. The songs have a tendency of getting old too fast, I enjoyed the other albums so much because no matter if its the first time you listen to it or the 100th time you listen to it, you appreciate the album from start to finish. This album just doesn't do it for me, I find myself using Mike Shinodas Fort Minor as my back up album.
