2000 Dodge Stratus

Engine light came on car starts running and shifting sparadically. I got it home and cranked it back up after a few minutes runs ok but will not change out of first gear. Need suggestions.:banghead:

hey SEw0509 I have a 2000 stratus with the same problem. The check engine light is on, speedo is not operating ,and it wont shift out of 1st gear. what did you do to remedy your problem?

I still as of yet have found an answer. I replaced the input and output speed sensors on the transmission. Still no fix. Pulled coded from computer and List P0725 Engine speed input circuit malfunction. I have seen several other people say to try a Quick learn. But I can't even get it to a dealer right now. Also found where some have checked wiring to tcm and pcm and cleared problem. Also replace transmission fluid if not atf 3 or 4 fluid. Chryslers have to have that type of fluid..

Let me know what you find out. I'm still working on mine.:banghead:
