Help

I recently bought my 89 IROC and it is overheaing in a big way. The thermostat and water pump have already been replaced their is good flow through the radiator. one fan on the right passanger side runs when the car is actually run and gets hot. Is the other fan supposed to run and are they supposed to run after the ignition is turned off ?

Is the air damn in place? Without it, things get hot in a hurry. Also if your ignition timing is way advanced it will run hot.

Also check the mixture of the coolant with a hydrometer, $2, at he parts store and a good $2 investment at that.

Lastly, what do you define as hot? These cars do run 220 avg. fyi.

The second fan runs when the A/C is turned on.
