some things need to be touched on every once in a while, and unfortunatly they are usualy mandated by tragedy.
a very close friend of mine was killed last night by a careless driver while she was walking on a stretch of Pacific Coast Highway.
story goes that the guy was in a brand new Mustang GT500 convertable and was trying to shift 2-3 and ended up 2-1, locking up the back end running her over in the aftermath of loss of control. the police released him, so no alcohol or drugs were oblivious [blood test pending]. with the type of car involved he may not have been going over the speed limit, but was probably under heavy acceleration when it happened. Mustangs have a tendency to swap ends [if you have ever driven one you will understand] very quickly under the right circumstances, i know 3 other people that have crashed under the same story. there is even a vid floating around the internet of some guy going head on into a line of cars, and another of one careening across traffic under the same circumstances.
here is a link to the story:

so please be carefull out there and think twice before making a stupid move. anything can happen out there.
Lori was a pillar of the community. she had over 18 years of sobriety and over those years helped countless women repair their lives, achieving success from failure. she was definitly one of the good ones, and makes this such a tragedy. there were many times she had bad news to deliver to me and no matter what i could not be angry with her.
i have lost way too many friends over the years, most of which to being young and stupid.
please be carefull out there and pass the message of this post to those you know. she died walking down the street and sadly this proves it can happen to anyone.
best.

I believe if your going to do something stupid make sure that no one is around for a couple of reasons: A. you don't get caught and B. no body gets hurt but only yourself.
Drive safe guys.
Drive safe guys.

That seems really shady to me. I have never, ever missed 3rd gear and hit 1st. Something smells fishy. So, just because the guy is completely incompentent, it's "excuseable"?!?!?! Sorry, but that's just fu$cking rediculous.
I'm sorry for your loss Vince. :frown:

I'd have to agree... I can see hitting 5th but not 1st... Its terrible when these kind of things happen because of stupid drivers... We had something similar happen around here a few years back and a guy we going like 100mph through a small town and hit a little kid and killed her... Its a terrible world sometimes... Sorry Vince... :frown:

hey dude sorry about your pal. There is always some idiot wanting to show off in there supped up car or truck and ends up killing or hurting some one.Like just a few weeks ago i saw a guy in a Chevy Pickup SS model trying to burn out on a wet road and almost took out three other cars doing it.We must all remember that speed and power are fun but using it wisely it what most of us take forgranted.
