What is it that makes the STD 70hp & the DX 92hp? According to a couple things i've seen the compression, pistons & displacement is the same. What's the deal? Also what's the engine code difference (d15b?)?
Another ? I have is , will the 5g CX intake work for a MPFI swap if I use the SI ECU & dizzy?
Thanks

I believe STD is D15B1 and DX is D15B2.
Aren't the cams different? not sure about that.

Well, i know for a fact that the DX is DPFI...not sure about the STD. And i know that the DX uses a 5 speed manual trans or auto......and the STD uses a 4 speed manual.

They're both DPFI & I know they have diff. trannies but why is the HP so different?

aawww... 92 hp:D, great numbers to hear. For awhile I was scared that mine only had 70 hp:(. I couldn't tell you the difference, except what has already been said about the trannies. The STD trannies mess with me since they are only 4 spd, I keep tryin to shift to 5th. Oh well, there is my useless info.

I know the STD has a different exhaust manifold so maybe, but would that give it 20hp? Maybe it has the same intake manifold to.

but on your sig, under your avatar and everything says thatyou have a DX, the DX is not the STD model! There is a model under the DX that is standard, and its a 4 speed. Do you have a 4 speed? or a 5 speed?

according to the honda dealership, the head, pistons are diff!! Intake, And Exhaust Are The Same!! std=70, and dx=90 horse power (this is CORRECT)!

I think it probably only has 8 valves instead of 16.

that is correct. i took my CRX HF engine apart and the head is 8 valve. my DX was 16 valve.

i dont think hf, and std are the same! the reason i say that is hf has mpfi, and std has dpi, and still produces the same horse power, the internals of a hf is far diff. between the std! also i have an std, and i just rebuilt the engine, and it does have 16 valves!!

This still doesn't give info about the D15B1 (STD) engine. The STD does have 16 valves. Unless the D15B1 is a DX engine (88-89) & the D15B2 is also a DX (90-91)? Just a thought.
