That sure looks good!

Hasn't really felt anything special for the FXX but it kind of grows on you, might have to reconsider and get me one.

Your build makes me wanna get one right now.

Your build makes me wish I had done my Enzo in a different color than black. Looks very nice.

I hated the Enzo at first, but it is now my favorite of all time. I hated the FXX at first, but I have two in my pile with aftermarket goods. This makes me appreciate this car like no other. Enzo still looks better, but for what the FXX is made for, this is fantastic!!!! I loved your build, and this is beautiful. I think it is the first completed FXX too?!

Nice model - something that was to be seen watching your WIP. What I really like is your photography. That gives the model the sharpness it represents in reality!

The engine cover doesn´t seem to fit right when closed, is it a little bit wrapped?

Micha,
If you have built an Enzo, you will so soon discover the fit tolerances on the kit is ZERO. Once you carbon fiber the inside cover, and the side pods in the engine bay,and clear them... this is going to happen. Believe me... the car will RARELY be displayed with the engine cover closed.... not with all the work I put into it.

Thanks for all the replies guys!!!!

Exactly my opinion, it would be a shame to display the model closed. Why not building a model closed (no interior detailling) in a different colour standing it next to this beauty ...

Not a bad idea!! But the thought of gluing the doors and trunk shut..... I dont know if I could do it.....

The kit is a superb kit, but the trunk could have fit better, and I think the car could sit a tad bit lower.... but other than that, Tamiya nailed this one.... If I build another one, I think I will grind the inside of the hatch on both sides before paint and it should widen the non-existent tolerances....

Another awesome build from you Dave :bigthumb: . I have one of these going right now but it will be no where near this detailed. I'll use the Tamiya PE set but it'll be lucky to get any CF decaling...:grinno:

I have no doubt it will be super clean though Eric.. one nice thing about the PE set is all the mesh is the exact size of the appropriate openings... no cutting up mesh!!!! I cant wait to see yours...

Thanks again all of you....

Great looking results.

Regarding the engine cover fitment, I found that the inner fenders and the open vents in the engine cover itself have interferences and need to be shaved down to get the cover to fit properly.

And that probably would not look to good... I remember having a conversation in 2004 with you about yours and that was one of the reasons you closed yours up.

Thanks!!!

Looks great Dave. I just put the engine cover on my Enzo so I know where your at. Nice to see an FXX finished, was starting to think they were unbuildable.

If anyone can build an unbuildable, it's Dave.

Wow! Speechless. Very nice built there! Makes me wanna add this to my line up of cars to be built for the year. I like the additional attention to details of the hoses from the radiators and the suspension.:smokin:

The bolts on the bottom of the car are from Pro Tech I believe they are .030 Phto etch bolts. The CF is scale motorsport 1/24 Twill weave pattern decals...

Thanks!

Hello All,
I admire this model greatly and have a few questions on the build, What products did you use to make the engine hoses with? Please advise manufacturer and parts used if you would be so kind to share this information? Also if their is other specific details that you have added from detail kits available or you created please share!

I have been gathering the bits and pieces and detail kits to complete this same model and I am rather new at the super detailing of engine bays and using photo etched parts as well.

I purchased a more detailed PE kit from Hiroboy for this model and a Enzo carbon fiber template kit from Scale motors hoping it will cross fit this FXX.

Having limited expierence with PE parts is their a particular way of adhesion to the model I should be aware of?

I am not new to modelling, I have been building car models for more then 30 years now, unusual for a woman I have been told so many times before.... My latest home I was lucky to include a hobby room for both construction and display.

This FXX kit will be the most involved (and most expensive as I keep adding detail kits!) I have made to date so I would really like to learn all I can to reproduce this fine example shown here. Any and all help in doing so will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the link, that helps me.

One last question. Where can I find these products you used here in the USA? My local hobby shop is limited in thier scale modelling supplies and while he will order most anything his suppliers carry, his suppliers don't seem to carry much!

I have placed an order with Hiroboy and SMS but I am hoping to avoid placing another order with hiroboy to save on overseas shipping charges if I can find a online dealer of supplies similiar to what hiroboy carries and will have all the items that you have used to make this build.

SO may I ask where you and others go to shop for detail up parts?
