Hey all, I have a full size truck and am considering down sizing to a ford ranger 98 to 02 or so, but I was wondering if any one has put a car seat or two in the back seat area, actually will need two for short trips, xtr cab or super cab, it looks tight to me but wondering if any one has done it or could pass on advise. gas is killing me any advise will be helpful, thanks in advance.

I'm in a similar situation. I have a '99 Ranger with extra cab. My question is who sets up the safety requirements for the use of the two seats in the cab. By this I mean at what age and/or weight must the child have in order to ride in the cab seats. The seats are equipped with seat belts and using booster seats just don't make sense.

Many new rangers can have the pasanger air bag turned off for pasangers that need it or children that are placed in child seats. The back seats of a ranger are small and I am not sure if you are able to install child seats in the back seats of a ranger but check with your local dealer or fire or police departments as they will be able to assist in the insallation of the child seats
