I have an 84 CJ-7 w/ 258CU, engine, manuel tranny, it has the original "electric"" carb which lately has given me porblems idling. I was looking at the Weber carbs and was wondering if the couple they show are a good replacement for the crappy electric controled carb I presently have?

I'd think that a new carb would help out; as long as it flows about the same CFM you should be fine (figuring no other modifications)

Thanks 'fred'. Now I just have to figure a way to sellthe idea of purchasing it to my wife!

I would not suggest whining.
And after all, it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission. :cwm27:

For my 89 Yj 258 carb, my stock carb is out and a weber 400cfm double barrel is in. Works wonderfully. It's and electric choke, but now wich I had a mechanical. I just like less electric though.. makes it more manly in my mind.
And yeah.. replace then repent man.
